Shinobi Shuffle all grew from sample I found of a Japanese Koto (I think). And while the OG was a more straight dubstep track, a quick experiment in the session proved a triplet gro ove would also make a compelling track. DDD and I made the call to put this one out as a teaser single for my upcoming EP.

"Shinobi Shuffle (VIP)" takes its Japanese instrument sample and flips it with a triplet focused groove. When the drop hits, a plucky, laser-like synth enters, pitching down across a rolling sub pattern that gives the track its distinctive swagger.

As the arrangement progresses, the reece bass steps forward as the lead melodic voice, much like the original, but now with a swing as it swoops and soars through a melancholic melody that carries an almost cinematic emotional weight. Equal parts dancefloor weapon and mood piece, this one sets the tone for what's to come on the EP.”
